whatever this is a hot topic.. I think they would have but the chip shortage is changing the game. They can’t even get CDJ-3000 out the door or any of the new kit fast enough, backlogs worldwide.

If they solved the chip problem by going to another supplier in another country then maybe, but as far as I know the Taiwanese company was eons ahead of other companies and their chip was in everything from BMWs that can’t be sold to DJ equipment and phones and laptops and and and and.

So I would have said this November ish but I’m doubtful. I’d hate to be Pioneer right now thats for sure.

Along_the_Wire people will be able to cancel their orders though, and thats not factoring in who isn’t ordering when they discover the situation. Some are waiting like 18 months now.

Got people messaging me every so often asking if I’m selling the XZ and I’ve never even listed it. We’re lucky to physically have the gear, my mate just sold his for 2k and it was 2 years old!

Thanks. I didn’t realise that was holding up production. Doesn’t look good.

Did a quick search which says that they expect the shortage to ease in the second half of 2022 but in the automotive industry, it could take to 2024 to get back to some degree of normality. My guess is that it wouldn’t be wise to announce and not be able to deliver it for a couple of years on top of the current backlog.

        whatever good find

I never fully understood it but online globally in DJ forums/reddit/pioneer forums etc it’s all ‘when can I buy / when are they arriving’ and nobody has genuine answers.

XDJ-RX3, DJM900nxs2, DJM-V10, CDJ-3000 (And 2000nxs2 is discontinued), DDJ 1000, DDJ 400 (just got discontinued and its one of their hottest selling products!) plus a plethora of other ones all can’t be bought and shipped meanwhile you have a market begging for it.

I do wonder what Pioneer has stood to lose in terms of potential. Second hand market valuations are nuts, the guy who bought my DDJ-1000 for 850 2 years ago just sold it for 1100!

Cankles-McJeggings which country? I heard Aus has some stock. If word got out about your location they would be cleared out in about 6 hours mate

Haha if their stock system is right, which to be fair usually is, they have 24. Seems excessive though that does.

It wouldn’t surprise me. The gaff is massive and they are comfortably the biggest in oz. I went to the warehouse in melbs to pick something up once coz the freight was daft. Couldn’t believe how big it was. Like huge. The customer service is absolutely shite though.

…exciting studio upgrade arrived today and just set them up. Been waiting since they were first announced 6-months ago. So new I’ve not seen any online reviews of them yet 🙂

Heno …they do look amazing tbf, super-clean design

            Mad_Cyril …the yellow bit? that’s the tweeter!

303abuser …given them a low-level run-out, but they are supposed to have 8-hours ‘burn-in’ time before you judge the sound properly. Can already hear the difference with them being a proper 3-way, mids much more present even at low volume.

Unbroken1 I’m definitely jealous. The one thing I’m lacking is a proper acoustic studio with decent monitors.

…tbh, it’s the acoustic bit that’s lacking in my set-up, I’m in an extension that’s pretty much all glass with wooden floors.

I’ve done what I can to damp it down and plan on getting some heavy blinds, but that was a consideration in upgrading to these from the a77x, as they have built-in DSP-based tuning, so (to a degree) I can compensate for how shit the room sounds.

That’s my basic problem too, glass everywhere. Had to make it aesthetically pleasing to keep my wife happy, but it’s a nightmare of reflections. I’m stuck on headphones for the foreseeable future.

Morty-C-137 I tried sonarworks too, didn’t find it helped that much to be honest. I’ve just learned my various speakers and rely on my mastering engineer to pick up anything I miss. My dt-990s are bright, the big speakers are bright with lots of reflection, my 5.1 system is bass heavy, the car is transient heavy, etc. If I can balance a mix with all that, it’s usually in a decent place.

Morty-C-137 …their predecessors, the A77X, which were excellent monitors but the A series was coming up to 10-years old, and I always figured the new version would be the most likely thing I’d replace them with.

Adam trickle-down the tech from their flagship gear, these have a lot of the features of the S3H which are very highly rated (& £6K a pair!)

Great stuff. I’m still on my old A7’s. I will run them until they break beyond repair basically. They are what I know best. I am in a smaller room than before though. For that reason I use my cans more to reference bass.

…they are excellent monitors, and there’s a lot to be said for getting to know them inside and out. Only real reason for changing for me was finding something that is better suited to the space.

Deeds about Andy Rigby-Jones’ new mixer are out. People with money who can’t find a V6 should be happy.

Homegrove don’t agree with what he says about the deck stand. Versus whats on the market I think its decently priced. I had real issues getting my deck stands here in the UK and opted for some Sefours that are OK ish. You can get bespoke units made via ETSY which in theory would have been a better option for me .

Thing i hate about vinyl storage is the units have no backs, so vinyl can fall through and look a mess. The holy grail for me would be storage like you used to get in record shops, really easy to flip through and get to/organise- but the wife wouldnt moan about as a pice of furniture. Having all my vinyl tucked away in book case style units just makes me forget what I have and not play it as much as I should,

Homegrove …clickbait title! I’ve seen old rotaries for way more ££ and isn’t the top-of-the-line ARS in the same ballpark?

Interesting bit of kit though… would love to have a play, the oil-damped faders and HPF are a truly luxurious way to mix. Interesting that AR-J has effectively made a updated version of the V6, last time I spoke to him I asked if he ever sold any old/refurbed ones, and he said he would if he could find any!

Can’t help but think that the market for high-quality desktop rotaries will impact the potential sales though, when the V6 came out there were literally no other (new) options. The likes of the Condesa, Can Electric, Varia, Isonoe have proven you can have killer sound in a small form factor, I’l bet most clubs don’t even have rack-mount housing for their mixers these days, just a table-top.

Mad_Cyril …I’m guessing with the time/energy it takes to make a video he probably focuses on the stuff that he at least suspects will be decent.
