Homegrove I don’t think it’s bad for the money as it is comparable to a full set up for a third of the price - it does a lot and this range has been super reliable (its probably jumped a couple hundred because of the chip shortage so the XZ will start selling at more than we are used to seeing).
I won’t be using this one and I don’t know if I’d upgrade my XDJ-XZ to the XZ 2 when it happens, if the only upgrade is basically the screen. But I know a large amount of DDJ controller users, and XDJ-RX from 2015 users who have been perfectly happy with this kit. Many professional names you would think have CDJs have the XDJ-RX and RX2 at home because they just don’t need anything else.
I’m disappointed that the CDJ-3000 and the RX3 don’t have inbuilt beatport locker / streaming as Mojaxx is right - there’s a huge chunk of the new / upcoming and existing DJs who are going to want it and Denon have given customers this inbuilt for ages now. Denon DJs don’t need laptops to stream music on the fly - just wifi.
I posted somewhere before that I genuinely loved Beatport link between Oct and May gone and only stopped using it because my laptop’s connection to my XZ was temperamental (music would stop during a performance, causing me to lose confidence).
I just don’t want to laptop DJ to stream tracks - Sasha stopped it for the same reason - performing regularly from a laptop is just begging for bugs/trouble/unexpected issues when RB or Ableton or Mac or something updates. A professional can do without it.
Really scratching my head why Wifi streaming isn’t included, and maybe Pioneer realise professionals will never want to stream anyway and streaming is more for the massive market of bedroom DJs in their eyes.
