Anyone have any thoughts on the new Ortofon concorde carts? I was looking at the Clubs but I hear the Elliptic stylus wears out your vinyl. Apparently the best sounding carts after those are the Digital

IndustryStandard I have the Clubs. Sound really good. But I mainly just rip vinyl these days, so repeated plays are not an issue.

…treated myself to the Wireless+ headband/adaptor for my AIAIAI cans. Enables latency-free wireless headphone monitoring for DJ’ing/studio work. Do like the modularity of the AIAIAI’s- my earpads were starting to wear and the hard headband was the least comfortable aspect of wearing them for long periods, so interested to see how these work out… getting decent reviews so far.

Heno …the full Wireless+ headphones set-up is pretty spendy, around £300 I think, but I only upgraded the headband which is £150 and bought some new over-ear earpads

Mad_Cyril as someone who just spent a lot of time syncing hardware latencies, you can hear 16 ms and i would assume that’s enough to impact beatmatching.

The eldest has finally grown a pair and got a offer accepted on a shared ownership scheme in downtown Teddington. Delighted for the lad.

His room becomes my studio. I have a question as a result - what sort of stand do you use or would recommend for a mixer, monitor speakers etc?

Along_the_Wire I got one hand made. Our place has got a kind of beach house feel, so wanted something that fit in. Mine’s bespoke, but the pic will give you an idea of the kind of thing… Mine’s got speaker stands built into it, and has a couple of different heights in the shelves, for vinyl, and for my amp.

Also on casters, so I can easily move it around if we’re having a house party…

Oli will work with you to figure out the design, size, shelf spacing etc that you need for your set up.

Very highly recommended.
