Mad_Cyril …I think the initial scarcity (& cost) when they were rediscovered 10′ish years ago put them in the hipster category, so many boutique brands making them now and the fact that the likes of Omnotronic and Ecler have got on board shows how mainstream they’ve become, there’s been a core of people have used them for decades.
I do find it odd to see FB groups full of people queueing up to pay a premium for mid-range 90’s mixers, or converting Xone22’s to rotary, milling new faceplates etc… why wouldn’t you just buy a newer, better quality one like the Mastersounds?
I remember when those Soundcraft Urei’s were being sold off for £350 (slated at the time by the old Urei/Bozak purists for sounding crap!)… £2K for a half-decent one now.
