Really, no midi yet? Even my tascam model 12 has midi, but I guess that’s more of a small studio desk. Seems like it would be standard with today’s tech, everything has a usb connection now.

Dubman do you ever get L&R levels on your decks lopsided? Not sure if its just the record or the inaccurate VU levels on my mixer, but sometimes one sides output is much greater than the other. Ive swapped carts, played on another deck etc. Also had the decks serviced and new leads. Still get it from time to time.

Wonder if anyone else gets the same issue?

Re bespoke built booths for the house; I’d always go for something with a lid, it just makes it a more useable bit of furniture and stops you having to dust them all the time.

Dubman …that was prob a little hefty at the time, seem to remember them being between £300-£350 for YEARS.

Had mine boxed up in storage for a while after we moved back North… I’d not used them much in the previous 6/7 years after jumping on CDJ1000’s when they came out around 2004. Finally brought them indoors, found the receipt in the box, I’d upgraded to 1210M3D’s in ’98 as my circa 1990 ones were well battle-scarred, so they were in pretty much perfect nick. Kept one and sold the other on eBay for something like £500 which I thought was mental at the time… wish I’d kept both now.

They were around the price you said. I think one of mate paid even less than £300 although he did buy them early plus his girlfriend worked for Panasonic.
I did buy mine from Brighton and they also came with just a 2 pin plug. There still going strong the pitch feels so smooth. I could really do with a brighter deck light.

Dubman …pretty sure lamp replacement is a standard deck service thing and not difficult. You can buy the parts on eBay IIRC.

Some advice please gents. Looking to ditch Traktor and move to another digital DJ software set up. Traktor’s always been fairly flaky, STILL doesn’t feature elastic beatgrids, and I’m well pissed off at the introduction of the new subscription model.

Set-up : I’m using an A+H Xone 92, running through a 2 channel audio interface into my Macbook Pro M1.

RekordBox and Serato seem the two obvious choices to look at. Any pitfalls to look out for?

Any alternatives I should consider?
