Theconsole Speaking of mixers there’s a used Allen and Heath Xone 43 for 550 usd and in great condition.
Should I pull the trigger? It’s at guitar center in Tacoma Washington.

@Homegrove you know much about these? I think the 92 is a step up but for the real gains a DJ needs I have no idea about the difference.

NasserAlazzawi I wouldn’t buy a 92 anymore, 96 all the way anytime I’ve played with either. The 96 sounds a lot better, and has the dual soundcards, and headphone-setups. Worth the extra 500 € easily. All you’re missing is the LFO. Though the crunch effect A&H replaced it with is useless outside of EBM maybe.

Theconsole a new 43 is about a hundred more, so I wouldn’t. It’s a great mixer for the money though.

Homegrove …interesting. Not played on a 96 but a lad I know who hires kit out all over Ibiza says he’d take the 92 over the 96 any day of the week.

Unbroken1 I’ve heard that a lot too, but my subjective opinion having played both a lot is that I much prefer the 96. The filter pop of 92 missing is one more thing I also forgot to mention.

Homegrove I’ve one of the original grey 92’s tbh I don’t even notice the pop, such a great mixer would never sell it bought it new around 04 for €1400 so it owes me nothing it’s been rock solid

Thinking of upgrading my speakers for DJ’ing. Got really shit, cheap ones. New ones would need to be quite small/compact and still at the budget end maybe circa £250 max.

Any recommendations?

Bought 4 of the Swedish House Mafia Ikea-monitor stands to make a shelf/ hide my cables from the main room direction in my home set up. 35 € with postage, as the local Ikea didn’t have them/ was sold out.

I have a lovely grey/blue Xone 62 sitting on my shelf i’m not using at the moment. Using my DB2 , but the sound of the 62 is so much better. Built like an utter tank too. Sometimes think about selling it but cant bear the thought……..

Xone 43s are pretty nice mixers. Id pull the trigger, but im a bit mental collecting A&H gear. Also have a Xone 23 and at one time had a Xone 32 with the stupid gains round the back but a fliter/LFO from heaven…….storm grey too. Regret selling that🤣

Thoughts on the new Denons ? Not sure about this trend of adding speakers to these controllers. Interested to hear how they sound and if they could replace a standard $100 set of 4 or 5″ monitors, that in fairness a lot of people use.

Would they be good enough for home listening, mates round playing a few tunes etc?

I reckon for Denon to do something like this they’ll be decent and have read they’re good for home practising and even monitoring in a smaller bar scenario.

The main difference on these Denons is:

No metal casing, it’s plastic. Which is still fine
The screen is quite small for 4 channels. But they are 4 channel stand-alone and the cheapest on the market for that.

Wasn’t the greatest review TBH. Think thats a lot down to how good the Prime 4 is.

Still be interested to hear the speakers. He said better than the Numark, but still not great at loud volumes. Suppose Mojaxx high volumes might be pretty….high.

Id like something mininal/wife certified for the living room, so if the speakers are OK for that environment in the 2 channel version I may get it

Yeah re. Mojaxx he’s been DJing regularly in newcastle for about two decades - multiple times per week plus weekly live streams and I’d imagine his hearing has taken a punch.

Looks like my XDJ1000mk2 won’t be shipped until next summer - absolutely ridiculous. I suddenly remembered that Dermo said something about availability in Australia and I’ve got a mate over there to order one for me - should be with me very soon. My full DJ set up should be done in my new studio thing by mid-November. Happy fucking days.

Along_the_Wire I cancelled my order with The DJ Shop in the UK and heh fucking presto, they were on the phone and have shoved me to the top of their list - will ship in the final week of November. Bastards.
