mjh try and get one you won’t regret it really smooth fun mixer it’s right up there for me.

Used the XDJ XZ at that party in Portugal a few weeks back. I get why its popular but didnt really get on with it. I was B2B with someone using RB via laptop and I was using a HD, and whilst the laptop was plugged in the headphone monitor was all muffled and messed up. It was all a bit of a mess blending DJs, so flexibility wasnt great …..especially given everyone was using RB / Pioneer software & hardware. Pioneer sub menus are another bag of fun too. Having to select all the different catrgories for filtering and sorting PRIOR to exporting to USB/HD is a bit 2010…..thought they may have sorted that out by now.

IndustryStandard I get why its popular but didnt really get on with it.

    blasphemy!!

But yeah the next one will be on the new architecture like the Opus Quad / CDJ-3000 where it can read raw files / stream them on the fly etc. It has the 2016 CPU / screen from the CDJ-2000nxs2 and even by 2016 it was already showing its age in the age of iphone/ipad touch screens.

My guess is its gonna have Stems too but can’t see on this diagram.

NasserAlazzawi …had a very brief play with one on Saturday for the first time. Build seems decent, aside from having access to /channel HPF’s not convinced there’s enough on there for me to want to change… yet.

I’ve deduced its one of those things that you sort of fall in love with the longer you go on it. My first blast was 10 minutes and I was just intregued but then I had a good few hours on it and my bank manager literally rang me from his home landline shouting don’t you fucking dare son

…its a very specific feature set that I look for in a mixer, and although there are aspects to the Euphonia that I really like, I just kinda feel that its almost too much on the bells & whistles front.

I think my current mixer is the only one of its kind in the NE, the service is untouchable- I can talk to the guy that designed/built it about very specific spec tweaks, and there will NEVER be a mixer as well-built.

@Homegrove this has probably been discussed before, but what’s your recording setup? Think I remember seeing you use Traktor, so have you assigned your cdjs to the decks on it and then use the performance recording mode, or do you record the outgoing signal from your mixer? Or other?

I was previously using Traktor Pro with a Z1 & X1, but since getting my XDJs and Xone:43, I’ve been using a Behringer UCA222 out of the back of my mixer to my laptop and recording the signal in Audacity. Not convinced this is getting as good a recording as I was getting in Traktor.

        Cheers

          Have a Tascam also SB.

As you are aware, it’s not idiot proof, but the sound quality is great when recording in stereo!

          There are also:

          • Tascam DR-05
          • TASCAM DR-40x

I have the Tascam DR-40 which is an older version of the X. The 40 series also has an internal hi fidelity stereo microphone (so you can record crowd noise at the same time as the mixer).

The next level up for professional recording would be the Zoom H4n Pro because it has external outputs on the other side - meaning you can put it between your mixer, and your speakers, rather than that line being a dead end it is still used in the room.

There are certain times running events when this really would be handy.

My recorder is from 2009, I am sure there are a lot better ones available these days for the same price. But it keeps trucking.

            Knobs4lyfe Damo.

Not sure about the rose gold ones on the pioneer thing though - but chintzy for me.

But if it converts the likes of @NasserAlazzawi to team knobs then can only be a good thing!
