Random aside, saw Weatherall the first time he ever played Stateside. In a massive warehouse in Oakland. Was him, Slam, and Funk D’Void doing a live PA thing. Around 1997 or so. Incredible night. All were excellent. But Weatherall brought the house down. Uptempo tech house when that was still interesting music. Last 30 minutes he switched to Electro/Breaks. There wasn’t a still body in the place. One of my favorite nights out ever. Being 16 years old didn’t hurt. Nor did the excellent beans.

What I said was that I didn’t have any real opinion on Weatherall as he didn’t seem to have much of a presence in the American scene.

I also said Leftfield are over rated, which they absolutely are. When you come from the birthplace of House and Techno you have understandably high standards.

Zack’s not wrong. Weatherall rarely played over this way. The only reason he played in the Bay was his friendship with Tony. We were lucky. Speaking of Tony…absolute barnstormer this is:
