Being from a culture where people are just continually nice to each other and have always ‘boosted’ each other (or kissed each other’s arses, however you want to look at it), they are initially intrigued by cynical British/Irish/Australian type humour but after a while it makes their heads split open.

Oh and fyi as for ’food I’ll never eat’ we went to Michelin starred restaurants the last 2 times we’ve been back. Both serving modern British.
