I grew up not far from the Welsh border. The sheer amount of faggots was staggering. You’d find them in corners shops and supermarkets yes, but mainly in pubs on a Sunday lunchtime. You’d see people sat there with them while you were trying to enjoy your Sunday roast. Put me off them it did, not everyone wants them forcing down their throat everywhere they go. You dont see them so much nowadays, think it was an 80s thing and that virus killed their popularity and they never really made a full recovery after that. BSE was it? Awful business.
