Nice choices on there.
I know some NBA blogger-types, not like besties or anything, and they used to do it out of just loving the game and sharing thoughts. They’ve managed to turn it into a career for themselves. They’ve said podcasting along with writing has been their key. Podcasting, like writing, is a skill that takes practice.
Chuck Klosterman is one of my favorite “music” writers (books, used to write for Spin), ’though he writes much more than that. He did a 15 episode podcast series, “Music Exists” your son might enjoy - on Spotify. More philosophical and big picture - like are artists responsible for their fanbase or what makes music sound “commercial”. Not for everybody but I enjoyed it.
