Has anyone actually been on one yet? Must admit I’d love to have a go.

They were literally everywhere in Barca and Madrid when I was there last.

As mentioned these are a game changer for reducing emissions in the cities so the government need to sort out the regulation ASAP.

Just had a grown man, with grey hair and a beer belly no less, nearly run into me on the pavement on an e-scooter.

They are called the ‘silent killers’ in China, they’ve had them there for ages, and I have used one.

Not that much fun, really. Appeal wears off after a couple of goes. Quite expensive here - £1 for 20 minutes on the ‘Ginger’ ones, so you’d think 12 year old dickheads couldn’t afford to keep them all day.

They need to get the EV mopeds sorted asap, there’s millions of petrol and diesel ones in Europe and the East that could be replaced pronto.

Amps they are already out there but like EV cars, cost a fkin bomb

We have a bunch of these absolute whoppers going from Sandbanks to Southbourne too. Bellwhiffs.

Along_the_Wire More like 20-30mph, but I’m not sure how they could/would open up on the freeway. I have every confidence someone will try it out soon though.

Kells77 People have no business riding these things at speeds that a car drives.

I assume they’re going downhill as they’re not really that fast on a flat surface, I mean, fast enough to burst yer bollix if you fall off but not fast enough that you need goggles.

      LT42 goggles

Boss look for your average e-commuter though.

        Amps
Definitely, some WW2 aviation clobber would look mint

LT42 I don’t know how fast the guy that died was going - he crashed into a tree, so I’d guess he wasn’t going at a leisurely pace. Another scooter death happened when a car crashed into them in Chula Vista (San Diego county), on a road with traffic, so I’d imagine they were able to keep up decently. Neither of these people were wearing a helmet, because it wasn’t required by law (although I think they’ve changed that now or are working to do so)

          a month later

I think that you can de-restrict them. The one that I have seen are going faster than a pushbike.

I wonder how much your average car-driving gammon hates them compared to bikes?

Dry-Tinder They’ve made them a little faster over here (on the app they say its because of requests by the users). I wouldn’t like to come off going full clip, took one to the bakery yesterday and I had an old man moment where I jumped off and thought, “young man’s game that”, a little too much speed mixed with the quality of car driver here is a recipe for disaster.

Millsy yeah we got a load of them over on a stag in Lisbon 2 years ago was carnage, don’t know how someone was not killed, think I still have about 50€ credit from them, was trying to top up with my phone shit faced and blew a small fortune on them
