As mentioned these are a game changer for reducing emissions in the cities so the government need to sort out the regulation ASAP.

They are called the ‘silent killers’ in China, they’ve had them there for ages, and I have used one.

They need to get the EV mopeds sorted asap, there’s millions of petrol and diesel ones in Europe and the East that could be replaced pronto.

Along_the_Wire More like 20-30mph, but I’m not sure how they could/would open up on the freeway. I have every confidence someone will try it out soon though.
LT42 I don’t know how fast the guy that died was going - he crashed into a tree, so I’d guess he wasn’t going at a leisurely pace. Another scooter death happened when a car crashed into them in Chula Vista (San Diego county), on a road with traffic, so I’d imagine they were able to keep up decently. Neither of these people were wearing a helmet, because it wasn’t required by law (although I think they’ve changed that now or are working to do so)
I think that you can de-restrict them. The one that I have seen are going faster than a pushbike.
I wonder how much your average car-driving gammon hates them compared to bikes?
Dry-Tinder They’ve made them a little faster over here (on the app they say its because of requests by the users). I wouldn’t like to come off going full clip, took one to the bakery yesterday and I had an old man moment where I jumped off and thought, “young man’s game that”, a little too much speed mixed with the quality of car driver here is a recipe for disaster.
