I seem to recall a similar party where Sasha got booked to play on some island in Greece and only 3 tickets were sold. Apparently he had a meltdown and refused to play.
I’ve been to a few over the years. Dave Seaman tried to put his own night (FourFour) at Ministry Of Sound in December 2002 and played to about 20 people in the box. I remember two nights at Code, actually 3 nights at Code where they turned the music off because the place was empty, Darren Emerson, Danny Howells and Nick Warren were each headlining nights. The Nick Warren night was a few weeks before his Reykjavik party for his next Global Underground. Edit, actually there was no one at a Dave Seaman gig at Code after Melbourne was released at code too. I think that it probably does some of these DJs good to play to an empty room every now and then.
Actually, I remember a night of Sharam, with Gabriel and Dresden at Code in 2005 being empty too.
Fuck me… How did Code stay open so long. 😂
