Either not many went off here or they are still going at the afters….I’m guessing it’s the latter!

Great night last night. John was on form and the place was packed (in a good way). As per the norm’ I didn’t recognise many tunes, so I imagine they’ll all be coming out on Futuro 2 later in the year 😂

Great to catch up with @Wasily @Smallman1 @baggers44 again, and got a brief chat in with Nick Muir about Stage One too.

Until next year…

Top night last night, Baggers, Scott, Was and Nick Muir all on great form.

The Netherworld remix Diggers dropped last night was definitely one of my fave moments. Blew my mind, it was so good, and great to see the crowd respond in kind.

Definitely remember hearing new Rolasoul and Cortona too that sounded monsterous

CindyLouWho The Netherworld remix Diggers dropped last night was definitely one of my fave moments

Brief clip of it on my last video above

ScottBailey these are fab, thank you for sharing. A lovely souvenir of a really special event. This year I was dancing the whole time at ground level towards the front so it’s interesting to see what it looked like from the balcony bit. Definitely looks and sounds a hell of a lot better from up there than it did last year!

CindyLouWho I still think the sound was a bit shit tbh, but the best place I found was at the front of the VIP balcony right in front of where the main speaker stack was flown about JD. Perfect angle for where I was stood, and the bass was so much better than down on the dancefloor, where I did go and have a brief boogie too 😅

Pretty sure I heard this too, but not a fan of the Street Fighter samples

ScottBailey Few clips I took of last night

The first track seems surprisingly heavy for what I’ve come to expect from present day Digweed; could almost be something off Los Angeles.

The metal barrier with the big gap to the DJ booth looks a bit odd though.

            Morning all.

Firstly - big shout to all the Bedrock regulars. Always nice to see familiar faces from previous events going right back to Heaven and before.

Smooth transit getting in. No queue or security issues. Seemed a friendly-ish bunch on the door.

The venue is super smart. Plenty of space and capacity. As someone put above, it was busy but a nice busy.

Now - here’s my continuing depression with ‘event spaces’. The sound system. Has it really come to this that Sir John of Digweed is stuck in the corner with only one large set of speakers above him?

Think of the cathedrals of sound. Stereo, Pacha, fabric, (bloody) Ministry! Purpose build venues! Breaks my heart to go to these venues where a tiny set of Sonos speaker has been shipping in for one gig. Reminds me of my days spinning at our local village hall.

Loved the tunes from Diggers. Some really nice stuff off his recent Transitions shows and plenty of new gear.

Really hoping Bedrock returns to a purpose made nightclub soon - if there’s any left in London!

See you later in the year x

delged agree with everything you’ve said here. Massive improvement on sound compared to last year imo although you’re right, it’s still not the same as hearing him in a purpose-built venue. Hence my comment about it still being no comparison to the gig he did at Sub Club a couple of months ago. Much smaller audience obvs but brilliant sound as that space is made for that.

Feels like whatever Diggers would do in that space it still wouldn’t compare to purpose-made venues, although as you rightly say, these appear to be increasingly few-and-far-between. Feel like with Outernet it’s the gig venue equivalent of that old relationship chestnut… rather than, “it’s not you, it’s me”, perhaps “it’s not you, it’s the venue” that seems apt.

Anyway, for all the reasons you’ve set out a huge improvement on last year and will definitely be back there next year. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Nothing wrong with small spaces and a decent sound system - most of the best nights I’ve been to have been in smaller venues with a tighter knit crowd

Hursty Phonox is pretty small and a class venue.
