Last Night On Earth

Ibiza Sonica is about 45 mins ahead of FB
I can’t watch that, the video isn’t in synch with the music… Amateurs.
And yes, he definitely wasn’t keen on monitors being knee height.
Well that was worth it! Does 25 mins count as a set?

Wasily I know it’s been in his locker for a long time, and I still quite like a breaks tune to build a set, but I really switched off to Sasha back when Airdrawndagger came out. Obviously down to artists feeling like they need to move on and grow, but if I want to sit down and chill, I’d rather put a Jose Padilla set on.
My two pence…
ScottBailey I do still love his stuff when he’s on game, but putting out 25 mins of tracks with at least 2 transitions lasting less than 2 seconds as a set…

Wasily for me it’s not even that. If I saw Sasha was headling at Space and knew his set was going to be this, I probably wouldn’t go.
This style of music (I feel) is much more conducive to being background music, and not music that’s easy to move (dance) to. You can see that in the people who are more happy just drinking their drinks and chatting amongst themselves (I get the whole Covid scenario).
If that’s what he’s aiming for, all the more power to him. I’m not sure that’s the case though.
I know everyone is raving bout his Burning man set which is good but it’s not a mix i’d go back to. It’s too claustrophobic. Most tracks never get a chance to breathe.
Jesus lads it’s just a bit of music, you don’t need to visit a psychiatrist to work it out ffs
They’re sets for home listening and are perfect for that imo. I refuse to believe Scott really thinks if Sasha was playing Space it would be 4 hours of twinkly breaks.

LT42 I dunno - he plays what he wants and fuck anyone who doesn’t like it. lets not forget the ‘flower house’ phase he went through. I remember some mates going to see him in Newcastle @ shindig thinking he was gonna bang it out. I’d bailed because I thought he’d play the slow tempo shite his sets had been recently. Every single one of them posted ‘it was ok but never really went any where’ / ‘gutted’ style reviews. 4 hours of slow house. Bleugh.
Wally edging close to Dermo territory with the “I have a mate that said it was shit” line, Wally
For every bad report theres a good one. I take that stuff with a pinch of salt these days.
He used to play downtempo stuff on Ushuiaiaiaia beach and then bang it out in Space later. Bottom line is these recent sets are for home listening and probably aren’t a good snapshot of a full club set.
LT42 fair comment. Probably wouldn’t be. I just think this has become his sound now for the immediate future and from that I don’t automatically make an effort to tune in when I see his name anymore.
Won’t be any skin off his nose for sure! At least he’s playing what he loves. I like that honesty.
LT42 lol - watch it with the Dermo comparisons lad - nae worse insult.
I dunno like - he released sets from the time from various places (he’s always the headliner so not like he was doing a warm up) and they were just ‘meh house’. Same as the electro-house phase he went through. Glad he got past them.
Agreed. I don’t know of any DJ who gets critiqued the way he does, he set the bar so high I suppose over the years.
Plays Berlin House, gets called lazy and boring. Finally hones a sound unique to him during lockdown, has too many sharp edges (?)
Imo, its far more interesting than the samey Bunker sets we heard every week. One dimension isn’t enough for me personally anymore.
I’d doubt you’d hear him do a Scene Delete set in a club either
