Ralph was sensational also!

-si- I highly recommend following Johnny Sac on twitter. Possibly the most toxic man alive. A total stop the steal MAGA chud. Such a shame as he was other fav and beyond great on the show.

Tony’s mother also played an absolutely top class part!

On only saw it for the first time last year as well brilliant TV

-si- Chris and Boddy host a great podcast, if you are looking for more of a Sopranos fix.

    -si-

The Wire is the only thing better, IMO. Give the nudge there as I think they tackled a larger breadth of topics and shared stories most wouldn’t be aware of. The mob family thing had been done before. But that’s no slight on The Sopranos. Tremendous television.

The Wire is alright…. I was expecting more than it offered tbh.

      No mention of Gammorah yet?
Sopranos number 1 and I’m going to do the whole thing again soon but fuck Gamorrah is good. Absolutely brutal bur fucking class

Chernobyl was fantastic too but surely can’t be considered in the same breath due to one being 5 parts and the other being 6 series.

Game of thrones was exceptional too, ruined by the final series. i swerved it for years as i thought it would be some sort of comic book stuff but the story is really about the battle between the families and all the shit that goes with it, as opposed to dungeons and dragons with riding. GOT would be number 2 for me. Then breaking bad in 3.

Gomorrah is a great shout, dutch.

The first few series of shameless were excellent entertainment. I might work my way through those again sometime.

-si- lots of cross over with the Sopranos production team. That would be my recommendation.

Deadwood is also amazing. Possibly my all time fav show, but its only 3 season and then a movie.

          jonattonyeah

I think Season 4 of The Wire is the best television ever filmed. It’s remarkable. Especially given they were working with, for the most part, untrained actors. And in a not easy place to film. Season 2, while ignored by many, is also incredible. The character arcs are flawless and the writing is second to none.

But I get that maybe being in America and working along side a lot of the issues the show tackles I might be biased towards it.

As Zack said, Deadwood is very good. Lovejoy is fantastic in it. Not sure why, but it doesn’t quite hit that Sopranos/Wire level for me. But still an excellent watch. Six Feet Under is also worth a go. I think they did one season too many but the last episode is perfect.

Speaking of last episodes. The Shield. If you want a gritty cop drama…holy moly is that show good.

            jonattonyeah Deadwood is very good

i wish they would have properly finished deadwood, ending it on a cliff hanger was painful. great characters and really entertaining.

zackster it felt tacked on and it had definitely lost momentum. another couple of seasons would’ve been magc.
