A friend of mine married a French guy, who said he figured Finland will do ok with climate change when compared to lot of other countries. They live here now. I somehow avoided asking the guestion that did he pursue a Finnish woman just because of that.

True. On balance I do have an old customer who moved over there after the big earthquake to help rebuild homes etc as he’s a carpenter. They moved back home after a year as his wife hated it.

Yeh it’s no different than Oz in that respect. You can handle the distance to back home and the culture change or you can’t. There’s many who fail to relocate. We would have left in 2008 if it wasn’t for the GFC. We both had jobs on Gibraltar and had a house on mainland Spain all sorted.
Might be a bit different when it’s impossible to live back home though.
