Amps Is there such a thing as an ethical bank?

  • Amps replied to this.

Hursty Yeah, there are a few out there, but iirc they tend to be smaller digital banks, so no high street etc. that said, I think the CoOp bank was meant to be okay. I could be wrong though, haven’t looked at it for a while.

Monzo is our main bank account, joint and personal

Hursty Ethical bank, now that’s an oxymoron. That’s what they used to call Northern Rock.

In the market myself for changing my business & possibly my current account. HSBC kinetic is so basic. Their statements are in PDF format which most accountcy software won’t accept.

Don’t First Direct basically clean up every year in the banking awards? Have no idea whether they are ‘ESG compliant and LBTQCBx+ friendly’ or whatever

Ran with Starling when I was contracting, good integration (which should be a given to be honest).

Also well boss for travelling, currency converted at the time of transaction to actual rates.

Barely use currency any more when abroad

Yeah. I was looking at Sterling or possibly Tide.
Regarding the travel money. I always take take cash as places I visit aren’t high end. So Cash is king. Getting cash out of an Indian cash machine is another story. The fees are astronomical over 10% the last time I was there.

All the banks I’ve ever used - Barclays, Monzo, Metro, Nationwide - have been utterly shit. Thanks for listening.

Along_the_Wire never had an issue, the app works fantastically well.

Apparently they don’t invest in fossil fuel companies hence their ‘green’ credentials

Millsy All the banks I’ve ever used - Barclays, Monzo, Metro

The order in which Millsy places these banks indicates a steady erosion of credit rating LOL.

Maybe the Duchess has been really turning the screw with the support payments.

For the record I have immediately gone into Credit Karma and can confirm I have an Excellent credit rating. You almost gave me a heart attack, Dave!

                  Phew!

This kind of flooding in Brooklyn is probably normal.
