The guy had one bad season, with the worst o line and receiving core in the league. I am all in on Hurts, so please don’t think I am trying to apologize for Carson, but I think it is beyond foolish to say that he is terrible. The guy looked like a top 5 qb for the past 2 seasons. Thinking he can’t still ball is silly. Honestly, he is probably a safer bet than Jalen, who only has 2 games under his belt. I just think this squad needs a rebuild, and freeing up Carson’s cap hit would go a long way. I also don’t think he was ever right for Philly. Unfortunately, this fan base requires a certain type of pedigree and Carson just never had it. Hurts on the other hand played with like 50% future NFL players in college and delivered under pressure in two of the top college football programs. Even if he doesn’t pan out I think he could be serviceable for the next several seasons while the team tries to rebuild. However, this would all require a new GM who can actually draft and develop players. Something Howie is atrocious at doing.
But he is good a deal making, and is just the guy to off load Carson.
