Hursty Very happy with the 3rd place for England considering they expected nothing from the tournament. Kudos to South Africa for getting the job done in both the semi and final by such a tight margin, both chasing and defending a lead
IndustryStandard Pretty special tournament IMO. So many superb games, free flowing end to end and tactical grinds. Saffers are relentless. The “Communicate” of the rugby world.
IndustryStandard hugopal ….you didn’t like the final? Was pretty good second half when both sides were at 14 men and NZ were camped in SAs half. Saffers always had the edge though. Buggers
hugopal IndustryStandard you didn’t like the final? It was basically decided by one side making more stupid fouls resulting in cards than the other, as opposed to skill or exciting play. The only particularly exciting part of the game ended up being disallowed (the Smith try for NZ).
bosstrabs alistair Only really the sort of try you see every week in Super League or the NRL. Still, fair fucks to the union boys for actually bothering to score tries rather than kicking penalties and drop goals.
Amps Andy Farrell named British and Irish Lions head coach for 2025 tour to Australia https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/67935698 Interesting appointment.
vinnyt77 Amps Quelle sur-fucking-prise…. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/jan/11/andy-farrell-head-coach-british-irish-lions-australia-rugby-union
Mad_Cyril Amps To be fair to Ed, the reason for any of the interest generated will fly, by quite some distance, over his bonce
vinnyt77 Slightly surreal experience watching the England / Ireland game in a French owned bar at 23:00, while I can hear a beach rave going on about 100m away.
Heno vinnyt77 I’m in France watching it, fair play England stuck at it, why the fuck did Murray kick the ball!,???
vinnyt77 Mad_Cyril Not so much trance, as bouncy prog from the sounds of it, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t pack my bouncy prog pants…
