    303abuser i read yesterday we have close to the worst air quality in the world right now. it’s like a mild fog, except that it’s smoke. haven’t seen the sun since friday and the high for today is 16. forget exercising outside, walking anywhere for more than a couple of minutes leaves me congested and with a sore throat. hate to say it, but we need a week of rain.

      I’ve been in New Delhi a few where the smog has been so bad you just have leave asap. You really feel for the people that have no choice to leave.

      yeah at least today it’s cooler out, thursday was smoke and 30 degrees. at least i can hide inside with air conditioning, people without it were suffering. i can only imagine people living in proper poverty who can’t escape it at all.

      So who’s been sunburnt? I sat out in the sun at 1400 for 5 mins and felt my skin melting, although I am a fair skinned ginger so not surprising!

      No chance. I was out at 6.30 this morning for a ride up the downs. Then stayed in the shade all day.

      If you’re somewhere hot, sit in the shade, wear shorts and flip flops and drink beers. If it gets too much, get in the room and pop the air-con on and continue.

        There seem to be a couple of bits of Canada on the southern Manitoba/Ontario border that are pretty much off-the-charts levels of bad from the fires. Carson City, Nevada in the US also currently has the same.

        There are some swathes of northern China which are also currently atrocious - don’t think that’s natural fires though, just China.

        Where you are does seem pretty terrible as well.

              here we go, -1 with a -3 windchill this morning, the slide toward winter begins. covid had better relax a little or it’s going to be a long 5-6 months.

                jonattonyeah tell me about it. last time i was in san francisco in december, it was 14 degrees. i was walking around in a t shirt because it was half way to summer, while all the locals were wearing fur-lined hoods. 😅

                    SM001 i’d love to know the answer too. global warming is just making our cold stretches colder and longer, with odd, short stretches of abnormally warm weather.
