I’d rather snow than the rain we’ve had for the last 3 days

I was out with a bunch of Finns the other night, I have a good Finnish friend and sometimes tag along with them.

They’re nice people, but it’s almost impossible to read their moods from their expressions, they are a lot like the Chinese in this regard.

Spent Thursday night getting shitfaced, playing darts and then about 11 they did their usual trick of putting heavy metal on the pub soundsystem through their iPods, so I fucked off. I can’t figure out if they’re hugely contented with this boring existence or massively depressed by it. Who knows? They’re certainly introverted and my shit British bants seems to them to be the funniest thing they’ve ever heard - figure that out.

      The driveway was under a feet of snow when I got home from work today. Happiest country in the world my arse. Will have to go shovel it again in 5 hours before I go to bed the way it’s still dumping down snow.

        Homegrove That’s been the only saving grace here this winter, not a ton of snow. Come march, I basically refuse to shovel unless I absolutely can’t avoid it.

        We’ve had what has to be the coldest march on record this year. It’s been 10-15 degrees below normal almost the entire month. Low overnight tonight is supposed to be -16/-20 windchill. That’s insane even for our shit climate.

              Really?! It can’t get much more miserable than living in China. Plus the Finns having to live in China are probably even more depressed than those in Finland.

                            We had no spring, straight into 10 degrees above normal, and now we just live in the middle of a wild fire. The air was completely unbreathable yesterday morning. Bit of a reprieve this morning, but this summer is going to be awful if we don’t get some rain.

                              It’s absolutely gorgeous down on the South coast now the wind has dropped. Looking forward to taking the bike up the downs for the first time this year.
