Will never forget this coming on as his first track in Space. Was an absolute head fuck at the time and the place fucking erupted
Old-Dutch Fuck me, you lucky cunt. I can only imagine.

zackster CD2 is also a great mix. Check this tune:
If he’d of done this as a GU rather then greedily releasing the mix on his own lablel it would of been very higly regarded, and his DJ career may of not gone down the toilet.

mono-stereo Was both my first ever night in Ibiza and seeing Sasha. What a fucking combo. Still in my top ⅔ clubbing nights of all time.
ScottBailey Xpander > Belfunk
Racist.
lol
jonattonyeah long live Wipeout 3
mono-stereo loved that mix at the time, bit cheesy but it defo served a purpose
Heno Yeah it’s cheesy as fuck, but still on a diferent level to his GU efforts, which are horrific.
mono-stereo glossing over the fact you’re saying Goa is crap?

ScottBailey TBH I have no strong opinon on Goa.
mono-stereo As a multi millionaire, I’m sure Paul will be okay with how things turned out.
Amps Up to a point he will, but it’s not all about money.
Amps he gets to see @Smallman1 at the Bridge. Life goals…
Agreed Amps. I just hope he’s not reading this thread on his iPhone as he swings depressed in the tyre hanging from the tree in his garden
mono-stereo Is that the one with the Big Brother theme tune at the end?

Oakey is a massive cunt but I loved Sessions 2 at the time, and still go back to regularly.
GU007 is an embarrassing crock of shite though
mono-stereo This was the only descent mix Paul did
A lot sink pretty low to be fair
Just listened to Sydney again and firmly in the Amps camp on this one. CD2 is defo the better mix for me

I enjoyed Oakie’s Tranceport when it came out, but pretty sure that was an album intended to break through with US audiences (was it even marketed in the UK?). Didn’t take any chances with that mix. Wasn’t familiar with trance music so the songs were fresh and interesting for me back in 1998 - a break from House and DNB, anyway. Still like Sasha’s mix of Gus Gus, “Greece 2000”, and PVD’s kickdrums. “Gamemaster”, on the other hand, is idiotic.
EDIT Skimming now the mixing isn’t bad if very safe. But I don’t really mind a DJ letting the songs breath if it’s obviously a Greatest Hits album.
The Dream Traveler – “Time” (Original Mix) (7:17)
Three Drives On A Vinyl – “Greece 2000” (Original Mix) (6:44)
Tilt vs. Paul van Dyk – “Rendezvous” (Quadraphonic Mix) (4:08)
Gus Gus – “Purple” (Sasha vs. The Light) (7:16)
Ascension – “Someone” (Slacker and Original Vocal Mix) (8:12)
Agnelli & Nelson – “El Niño” (Matt Darey 12″ Mix) (7:49)
Energy 52 – “Café Del Mar” (Three N One Remix) (7:21)
Binary Finary – “1998” (Original Mix / Paul Van Dyk Mix) (5:12)
Paul van Dyk featuring Toni Halliday – “Words (For Love)” (Original Mix) (5:08)
Lost Tribe – “Gamemaster” (Original Mix) (7:03)
Transa – “Enervate” (Original Mix) (7:11)
mono-stereo the goa mix? haven’t listened in ages, but i think that was about his peak, unless my memory is way off. which is quite possible.
Perfecto Fluoro was an absolute banger, don’t care if Oakey’s mixing is off.

He’s got ‘Fight fire with fire’ tattooed on his forearm.

Millsy lol. The addition of the Philips Hue light strip really sets it off.
