I enjoyed Oakie’s Tranceport when it came out, but pretty sure that was an album intended to break through with US audiences (was it even marketed in the UK?). Didn’t take any chances with that mix. Wasn’t familiar with trance music so the songs were fresh and interesting for me back in 1998 - a break from House and DNB, anyway. Still like Sasha’s mix of Gus Gus, “Greece 2000”, and PVD’s kickdrums. “Gamemaster”, on the other hand, is idiotic.
EDIT Skimming now the mixing isn’t bad if very safe. But I don’t really mind a DJ letting the songs breath if it’s obviously a Greatest Hits album.
