Christian yeah definitely don’t do this.
Sports you play as an adult
The recovery from injury time as one gets into one’s ‘sunset years’ is indeed rather alarming. I used to walk off an ACL tear or a broken collarbone with the help of 6 cans of Stella and a kebab when I was in my 20s. Now it takes c5 years and £150 BUPA excess to recover from a stubbed toe.
Dan if only it was doing a trick of this degree. Mine was an Ollie over a puddle. At least my face broke most of my fall
Millsy completely agree. Three months later and I still have got ankle supports on

Just got from my first MTB ride since mid October. Got absolutely soaked but I’m much more cautious going down hills these days especially being self employed..no work,no pay. Body’s already fooked after 25 years of decorating.
My only gripe with mountain biking are the twats on e bikes. I was half the way round Dalby forest and blowing out of my arse. I had to move over to one side as these lumps came flying past on one of the fire road climbs. Not very morale boosting

I’ve had that a few times going up steep hill huffing & puffing like I’m having an asthma attack then someone comes gliding past smoking a fat cigar.
I am coming round to the idea though after having a few conversations with some Emtb riders. They all say that they encourages you more to go out & for longer rides. It’s the cost that’s stopping me atm
Dubman same here. Looking at over £5k for a half decent bike

Problem with e-mtbs is they’re far too heavy and ugly as fuck. If you like popping and jumping over roots and stuff on the trials you’re better off with a normal bike. I also don’t buy this shit about them encouraging you to go harder and longer either, a human powered bike will be much better for fitness.
Not tried an ebike yet but can imagine the weight of them going downhill will also limit how quickly you can turn. Reading everyone else view I am still not made my mind up if it would be worth the investment
