Sports you play as an adult
Amnyl soaked iranges
I am a very good table tennis player.
That is all.
Amps , but enjoying rolling around. Mainly on the floor.
Afterparty shizzle
Amps figured it would be fun to get training. Was self taught on the back of being a pretty hardcore tennis player through school. Havent played for years and I completely lost my backhand, thought I’d just do a month till I got my game back. But it’s been a revelation, both in terms of it being a good work out (multi ball drills are nuts) and getting proper technique down. Finally beat my right handed coach today, who has been playing left handed for our matches at the end.
Not a fucking thing. I bike to work for half the year, which is about 200 kms a month, and try to walk everywhere during the winter. So far it’s kept me in some sort of shape.
I’m thinking about taking Tennis lessons
mono-stereo Yeah I’m thinking once I lose a bit more weight, 2-3 months of badminton, I’ll drop badminton and get back to tennis too.
mono-stereo Ive heard that nearly always when you arrive on court to play tennis, if you stick your flute through the netting it gets sucked off by roughly 4 gorgeous girls that are also playing tennis in the vacinity.
i’ve been playing soccer 2-3 times a week for the last 10 years, but i’m done with that after this last summer. the injuries are just piling up too quickly. i may still play pick up, but nothing competitive. other than that, running and insanity (hiit) are my staying in shape activities. getting old sucks, but i feel pretty good when i’m not playing soccer.
does ‘Debating Soc’ count?
Dan Tennis? Haven’t bought one yet, but I used to have Prince. I’ll be getting the Wilson Ultra - v3 with babolat strings when I get into it.
Table Tennis, I was using the butterfly Timo Boll 2000, but my coach got me a gki one, which I prefer. Still need to figure out my strengths before I get a pricier one or get one customised. But I’ll probably stick to butterfly.
Badminton, I have a yonex arc saber, very happy with it.

My son has got massively into skateboarding so I bought a reissue Powell deck to join in when he goes to the skatepark. Initially just to cruise around. Started getting back into it and was acting like I was young kid again. Slammed hard on to my face trying to olie over a puddle. Pulled tendons in both my shoulder and ankle and took me out from all exercise for about two months (ankle ligaments were really painful). Also looked a right twat in front of loads of kids including my son . Learnt that I now no longer bounce when falling and that I am way to old to skateboard
A couple of my mates have bought some long boards just for cruising around in the summer. The boards do look pretty cool not sure about the riders.
I was contemplating a long board as looked pretty cool in st ives as there was loads of middle aged guys on them. Not sure I would look as cool in Leeds
Does wanking count?
Am joining a gym for the first in a years on Monday.
Going to get myself properly henched up.

I dont know whether ro be impressed or mortified by the 40 somethings on here skateboarding. Either way, be careful out there lads.
Mortified is the right answer.
Mad_Cyril glad the guy carried on filming
Christian yeah definitely don’t do this.
The recovery from injury time as one gets into one’s ‘sunset years’ is indeed rather alarming. I used to walk off an ACL tear or a broken collarbone with the help of 6 cans of Stella and a kebab when I was in my 20s. Now it takes c5 years and £150 BUPA excess to recover from a stubbed toe.
Dan if only it was doing a trick of this degree. Mine was an Ollie over a puddle. At least my face broke most of my fall
Millsy completely agree. Three months later and I still have got ankle supports on

Just got from my first MTB ride since mid October. Got absolutely soaked but I’m much more cautious going down hills these days especially being self employed..no work,no pay. Body’s already fooked after 25 years of decorating.
My only gripe with mountain biking are the twats on e bikes. I was half the way round Dalby forest and blowing out of my arse. I had to move over to one side as these lumps came flying past on one of the fire road climbs. Not very morale boosting
