Kells77 From an American, that’s almost too funny. This is how I like a cheese salad sandwich:
White sourdough
Extra mature cheddar (none of your Cathedral shit either)
Tomatoes
White onion
Lettuce
Salt and pepper
Mayonnaise
I don’t like cucumber, so is don’t put it in - lots of people do
Along_the_Wire That doesn’t sound bad at all, but why’s it called cheese salad?
I don’t really like tomatoes and cucumber in a sandwich. They do damage to the bread. Soggy mess.
EDIT: It’s alright if I make something like a club sandwich myself, in which case the tomato gets strategically positioned between the bacon and chicken.
To be fair to Grant he’s got lettuce tomato and onion in there so I’d say there’s at least a bit of a salad going on there.
Not sure about the lettuce personally and would go red onion rather than white but other than that it’s a fine sanger imo.
C_J Not much lettuce, bit of chopped Romaine. White onion is stronger - I love it with some really good, strong cheddar.

White onion definitely with a strong cheddar. Last week i made my first batch of sliced red onion pickles. They are so morish i may try it cheddar today.
my wife got upset and we had an argument with me that her bacon sandwhich tasted to “piggy”. still making me angry that how can that be an issue to complain about.
Christian But you getting angry about it is RASHERnal and fair?
Kicking my day off with 3 crumpets and a cup of tea.
Living the dream.
Smallman1 Treacle with the crumpets one assumes?
Along_the_Wire ha ha
I haven’t been in an office since early March. Agree with @Kells77 there are some massive benefits , such as eradicating commuting and lounge ware , but change of scenery and human interaction sorely missed.
I don’t have kids so could not imagine two people WFH with kids having to be home schooled and waited on . Hats off big time .
(English) muffins > crumpets.
