I see what you’re saying but if the Ukrainians have been bombing and shelling the DPR for 8 years then it’s in the ballpark without splitting hairs. It’s a territory under attack from a hostile force, backed up by a bigger brother so to speak. Ukrainian forces have been inside the territory too committing assassinations and sabotaging supply lines (gas, electric etc) as well as damaging and blocking canals that feed into Crimea. I suppose it depends on what you would define as an invasion. If its the rolling into town on the back of tanks and occupying Govt buildings, then that’s just for the cameras really, an invasion can be brought in many ways. The only reason the Ukrainians haven’t used that measure is because of who’s behind the wall.

Putin just won’t accept NATO up on his borders. To a degree this is understandable. There have been various promises made, particularly after the collapse of the Soviet Union, to not expand NATO eastward past the Elbe, which have been broken.

But part of it is he sees successful, democratic countries ‘taking control of their own destiny’ on his border as a threat because it demonstrates to the people of all these miserable countries under Russia’s thumb, like Belarus, what they can actually have. So there’s an element of him just being a fucking cunt who needs dealt with.

if you think these “protesters” in canada are being persecuted, you don’t have a clue as to what’s actually happening. there is nothing peaceful about them and they don’t speak for anyone but a fringe group. the vast majority of canadians don’t support them and have no issue with the government’s response (with the exception of useless law enforcement doing nothing at best and being complicit at worst).

Truckers are conversatives it seems so they are bad and racist let’s shut them down even though its a peaceful protest against mandates to be able to hold down a livelihood and feed their kids. I no of one Canadian who can’t even get a vaccine exemption certificate to be able to work in Alberta, due to having a history of blood clots.

Covid is done 303. Wake up to the hypocrisy in Canada, if China or Russia brought in those measures normally used for terrorism against a peace protest it would certainly be a big thing.

Also heard Trudeau was voted into government there in a minority, there doesn’t seem to be much support for him esp now.
