Erm, what part of the vid Dave posted serves as a proper rebuttal to my prior post and point?
Also literally the week prior to that video your somehow guru Hitchens said this on the same show lol:
“I am not saying that there will be another Russian invasion of Ukraine, I am simply saying if there’s a Russian invasion of Ukraine it will prove that Vladimir Putin is stark staring mad. If he invades Ukraine then we will know that he is mad but if he is not mad then he won’t.” The week before that he’d also said an invasion would be: “an act of criminal insanity”.
So the guy whose video you reposted to try and denounce the idea that Putin may be a “NUTTER” literally himself thought that him invading would certify that he is “mad” and insane. Ooppsie!
But anyway, in a week, following the invasion actually beginning, Hitchens still manages to go from saying Putin would have to be mad to invade, to in Dave’s vid somehow trying to claim that it was instead “inevitable”!
And again why? Because NATO supposedly “forced Ukraine” in to “becoming an enemy” on Russia’s doorstep. It’s just the same nonsense trope - Ukraine was not “forced”, they were not “an enemy” in the sense that they were ever going to invade Russia themselves, and there were already numerous NATO countries on Russia’s border anyway (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland) which had not prompted invasions.
The guy is chatting bollocks - no wonder you were so drawn to it, despite his general political leanings.
