There is this in Rauma where I partly grew up, and lived for 12 years before moving to Turku.

"It’s actually the sailors that have made lapskoussi known in many harbour cities around the world. The name of the dish has remained more or less the same everywhere: Labskaus (in Germany), lapskojs (in Sweden), lobscouse (in English). Lapskoussi has become a dish that belongs to the every day life of the inhabitants of Rauma, but it can also be served in special occasions when people want to celebrate something.

Most certainly there are as many lapskoussi recipes as there are cooks. The main ingredients are beef, pork and root vegetables. The extraordinarily delicious taste is the outcome of a long cooking time. The basic spices such as salt and pepper are enough."

The last sentence tells it all, bland as fuck.

Same as scouse (MC’s post), Nordic sailors introduced it to Liverpool.

Imagine if Mongtorture was banned from posting his retarded shite for just one day.

bosstrabs This thread is the most blatant re-picking of low hanging fruit in an attempt to get a 100-pager and regain some board credibility from Pondwater.

It should be closed down and Pondwater’s apartment bombed.

What Dave said. A new board low. It’s theft, pure and simple.

Stovies from Scotland, but the grubby version with sausages. Basically the only thing my dad can cook outside of a fry-up.

Someone needs to get lanky sod Jonattahn Pongwater in a headlock and assault him to stop him posting more plagiarised crap.

Ed, with his extending neck, could probably do it.

zackster The region of the Uk known as England has some really awful food

All 4 of those are tremendous!

I’d have to give the buttered slice the s to the werve though.

‘Young Lankenstein’ Rottingthan Pongwater and giraffe Ed are probably the only two people compatible with each other for a male on male San Francisco-style 69.

Like cheese and ham, Dave’s on a roll!

The “full english”! An atrocious effort at a cooked breakfast. The laughing stock of the fry up world. Best served with chips, pint of luke warm carling and an episode of steptoe and son.

cornbeef hash. never heard of it until i met wife so must be a northern thing. absolutely horrid

whatever A well cooked roast with high quality beef is a tremendous plate of food. I suspect you’ve probably just had badly cooked food if you think it’s bland.

          mono-stereo

That is kind of the problem that all too often it is cooked badly. It is definitely a dish that needs updating with a new twist.
