Dubman Going to play around with my next solo project in the 70-100 bpm range and see what comes out. It feels like I tolerate about 2 bpm less every year as I get older lol.

303abuser I used to have my head fixed on the idea that when it comes to dancing we like being anywhere above 125ish bpm but I’ve put myself in my place with some of the 90-100ish stuff. It’s rare that I get them but they can have the rhythm / groove for movement even when the number is low.

Christ, I hope someone can help me here. I’ve prepped my tracks as normal, but this is the first time I’ve put auto-loop markers in there - everything looks fine on Rekordbox and everything works great, but when I upload to a memory stick and bring the tracks into the XZ, the cue point is where the loop marker is and trying to move around the track is almost impossible as it keep snapping back to the start of the loop. You can reset the cue point and other hot cues, but it just snaps back - doing my fucking swede in. Works fine connecting the laptop directly to the XZ, but I don’t like doing it like that.

Along_the_Wire CDJ3000s did the same with me. You need to go through the settings in Rekordbox I think. Then load the settings from the usb.

…do you have Active/Auto Loop turned on? (I don’t even know if your controller has it).

Basically in RB next to your loop settings the icon is red rather than amber. If so, this means your track will trigger the loop every time you hit that section of the track. If you have the standard loop saved (amber icon) it saves the loop but will only trigger when you activate it.

Unbroken1 That’s the issue - put in a hot cue as a loop, but whether I have it on as auto-loop or just as a loop cue, it fucks things up, as @NasserAlazzawi said, it doesn’t allow you to go to the start of the track with the cue button, it snaps to where the loop cue is. Really fucking annoying

I’ve never used / understood auto loop but did it by accident once and it got on my tits as I didn’t want it.

The bit that annoyed me was pressing Cue wouldn’t go back to the start of the track, it would be the start of the auto loop.

I’d be keen to see how you find it as I could imagine several tracks that are short enough to warrant always having it there as well as some cool creative tricks. It’s probably more useful in the different house / tech house sets I’m playing more than it ever was for Prog.

…Active Loop not necessarily a bad thing btw, can be useful if you want to create an infinite ‘run-out groove’ at the end of a track or if you want to work around any clashing melodic elements.
