What is the point in Skiing? Stay at home and just throw yourself down the stairs. You’ll save a fortune too.
Dan I discovered a couple of years ago that I don’t actually have an ACL in my left knee. Didn’t know that was even possible TBH, so a learning experience for me. My physio was adamant that I could still ski, with the right muscular strengthening to support the meniscus, and a knee brace to stop me from twisting it too vigorously. Not sure why a replacement would necessarily be any different? Has altered my skiing style. Off piste is pretty much out, and I’m much more likely to stick to less steep slopes that I can carve my way down with a slightly straighter leg.

You shouldn’t be necking a teaspoon of coconut oil daily if you have high cholesterol levels either.
Cankles-McJeggings The link between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol is dubious at best and likely has no impact on heart disease and risk of heart attack. Trans fats, sugars, eating excess calories, and a lack of exercise are more causally linked to heart attacks.

There’s nothing dubious about the impact of ox liver for example. I think if I’m going to take note of advice I’ll follow the consultants and specialists at the British heart Foundation and what the research scientists who work for them have done not some unqualified prick on twitter who owns a health store.
There’s plenty of research to back up it not being a great idea quaffing what is essentially a giant spoon of saturated fat once a day. If you had high cholesterol you’d be avoiding doing that right, you know, just incase and because it doesn’t really make sense to be doing that. To be recommending doing it when not taking into consideration that it could well be artery clogging for people with high cholesterol is irrational and irresponsible.
When the fad of coconut oil first came out everyone was falling over themselves to eat it. Not so much nowadays after proper research has been done.
It’s not that simple, but my point about the absence of a link between dietary cholesterol and heart disease stands. And yes, my total cholesterol is higher than recommended, but in the absence of trans fats, excess sugar/calories, etc., it’s not an issue.
Following national health guidelines is a great way to end up sick. They still recommend high carbohydrate diets and their guidelines for most vitamins and minerals are generally way off. Diet is complicated and aiming for “average” or “normal” based on general guidelines is a terrible idea. Most people will do very well by simply eliminating sugar and processed foods, the rest is a lot of effort for diminishing returns.
