303abuser I’ve read on the www internet that it does help keep hair healthy…. No idea but mine does feel thicker

Jules72 hey if it works, keep at it.

i did a little over 13 km on my run today, my knees feel like they’re failing with every step. 😅

303abuser apparently your testosterone drops if you run too much 303…. One reason why I stick to 30 mins

Jules72 yeah i’ll see how that goes. i’ve decided to do a half marathon training schedule, with the aim of 1:45 by mid july. not sure if i can do that, but i need to get back into shape.

For those of you interested in keto, this is a good watch. It goes into the role of ketones in mitochondria decoupling and how it relates to longevity. I may read his book as he seems to approach keto from a slightly different angle and I like the idea of cycling in and out once you’re adapted.

Interesting podcast on the neuroscience of depression and what you can do to prevent it…. Think I’m going to try the cod liver capsules and creatine he recommends

Being back in the Lakes again and doing a lot of hiking, you all do it rough! Over this way, mostly because it’s so steep, trails do switchbacks (places like Yosemite and much of the Bay there’s not much choice). But the hikes in the Lakes were like, nope, you’re just going straight up - we don’t care. Enjoy going up ’cause it gets the heart rate going but heading down is a pain and hard on the back.

Wansfell is right by the ’rents house and is a lovely hike. Doesn’t look like much but it is deceptively difficult. I respect the hill runs!

If you slipped over, can we rename it Wandfell?

Longest run of my life this morning, 16.1 km in 1:28 with 105 m ascent. And 50 km/hr winds. I feel like I’m not going to be doing much for the rest of the day. 😅

        a month later

19.3 km in 1:44 yesterday. I’m enjoying this to a point, but when I’m done, I’ll never run this much again. 10 km once a week with some hills/stairs between seems like a much better long term plan. If I can avoid an injury, it’ll be nice to know I can do a half marathon in decent time, but it’s not sustainable.

God the sight of this thread is making me feel bad after going 3 kgs up.

rhouses If it makes you feel better, I’ve actually gained 2 lbs from running the last month.

Along_the_Wire Yeah that’s probably a good way to describe it and, basically, improving my vo2 max is one of the primary goals of that workout.

Jules72 Haha I know. I did a baseline test in february and I’ll do another in august after all the running I’m doing. I’ve actually been considering trt for a while anyways, but this will help make that decision.

On a side note, I ran a fast 5 km on Saturday which has got me motivated again. I’ve adjusted my training a little to incorporate more sprints and a few less kms. I’ll likely do more trail running too, just to keep some of the wear and tear off my knees and for some additional variety.

303abuser I’ve mentioned his book/podcast on here before, but Matt Roberts (celeb PT) recommends the following for boosting testosterone… his package contains capsules from Time Health:

              Maca Root capsules
              Oyster meat capsules
              Adaptogen complex 6 capsules
              Resveratrol capsules
High strength vit D and K capsules (this last one is from Amino Man)

I’ve never felt in better health physically 303 👍💪

Jules72 Thanks, I’ll check that stuff out. I’m already taking a handful of supplements every day, a few more can’t hurt. I’d much rather not deal with hormone replacements, but we’ll see how it shakes out. I actually feel pretty good generally speaking and I’m about as fit as I’ve ever been, just had a low-normal test result when I was dealing with the fallout from covid.
