Here’e my mental health hack: Reading about the latest bout of roofing idiocy or piece of clunge-related misfortune to befall Ed Smallman keeps me feeling on top of the world!

I have no idea whether down to the Magnesium citrate or not, but since I started taking them earlier this week I’ve slept like a baby…

    Thank you sir!

I’m off down the gym lads…

Dan Going hard and in the groove, Dan. Smashing the fasting hours out of the park.

I definitely need to make some big lifestyle choices & sort my weight & fitness out. Haven’t been out on the bike since Christmas and I’ve certainly put on a few pounds. Then a few weeks ago I put my back out & couldn’t work for a whole week. Which in turn put a lot of stress on me regarding work commitments & deadlines. Because the worry I came down with Shingles last which has been do painful to deal with but at least I can work even though I’m in almost constant pain.

Dubman Jesus man that is a shit start to the year. Seek solace in the fact that you’ve surely used up all your bad luck for 2022

D-man, a - hope things improve on the health front quickly and b, get your hands on some of this!

I’ve been on and off with IF.

I basically need a stimulant, and exercise to get my brain into gear in the morning. Drinking green tea/coffee and having my stack of vitamins / fish oils on an empty stomach doesn’t work for me as I feel sick, and this is a problem.

Does anyone know what I can do here?

        Smallman1 what would this do?

I forgot to mention, I am trying to exercise first thing in the morning including weights. But I end up really weak doing it on an empty stomach.

Amps Cheers - to paint a wider picture, I’m unable to sleep on an empty stomach.

I wouldn’t be averse to eating say 6am, exercising at 7 and not eating until 7 or 7:30 if such a regime exists.

I’m a ‘mixed burner’ if that helps - so I lose weight when I eat more often like 4 or 5 times a day (splitting my lunch in half) but it takes more time out of my day also. I’d prefer to nail fasting.

NasserAlazzawi As mentioned here or in another thread, I have the same issue. I’m lifting to failure three or four times a week, but I will never be setting any PBs whilst I’m fasting.

NasserAlazzawi Honestly… suck it up princess! 😆 If you really want to stick the fasting, then just battle through. After a few months you will start to adapt.

The point is, you want to be doing a stint, at some point in every 24 hours, of not eating for 16 continuous hours or so.

When I first started it was pure nausea for two weeks, after a few months it was mainly sweet cravings, now, when not hungover to sin after the footy, I’m getting there and getting back a bit of control over all my eating and fasting.

NasserAlazzawi i can’t skip breakfast, i absolutely need it to function, so my eating window is approximately 8-4 most days. exercise fasted before breakfast, then get the supplements and a cup of tea in. you just have to figure out what routine works for you by trying different things.
