Mate you beat me to this by half an hour.

I had to look up the back story as I didn’t get it, and I thought the slap was fake at first.

From BBC:

"Referring to Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved hairdo, Rock said: “Jada, can’t wait for GI Jane 2.”"

His joke referred to 1997 film GI Jane, in which Demi Moore played the title role with a buzzcut.

Pinkett Smith said: “I’ve been having issues with hair loss. And it was terrifying when it first started.”

The star said she first suspected she had alopecia after “handfuls of hair” came loose in the shower.

“I was just like, ‘Oh my God, am I going bald?’ It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking with fear,” she explained. “That’s why I cut my hair and continue to cut it.”

You can see Jada to the right of the screen when it cuts to Will - she looks totally different at the minute.

I’ve always appreciated him but, man… I love Will Smith.

This is a full length video showing what happened before, too.

He then went on to win an Oscar for the performance of the Serena / Venus Williams Film “King Richard” (which ywas an amazing film).

He apologises but not to Chris.

Will Smith making a complete tit of himself. Cringe.

Will Smith winning an Oscar for best actor? Deary fucking me.

    • Dan replied to this.

      Preferred Talking Heads myself.

NasserAlazzawi It looks Hollywood to me. Him playing the King Richard role protecting his family. Slap did look fake to me too. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was like that either. Got to keep people watching!

Now Will is having to move in with his auntie and uncle in a town called Bel Air.

I read his autobiography earlier this year (for some light reading). It really made me dislike the guy. The first half (about his upbringing and music etc) was mildly interesting but when it got to the film star part it became awful. Constant reminders to the reader about how great he is, how he is better than most people, how he’s been out on earth for a reason etc. Absolutely deluded.

Doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that he did that last night. It’s all about Will Smith in his world.

I’ve always liked Will Smith. He’s always seemed genuine, but regardless of whether or not Rock had context this is complete bullshit. Men behaving badly on live TV. I’ve never found Rock funny. It’s a tad odd that Smith initially laughed and then seconds later clocked Rock.

Going after someone’s appearance is pretty fucking low hanging fruit in this day and age. Going after someone’s character is a much more poignant form of humour a la Ricky Gervais.

The more times I watch it the more fake it looks. All those cameras in the studio yet where only seeing one angle.

I’m not justifying Smith’s reaction by any means, but we have absolutely no idea what’s going on with Jada and in their home. Maybe Chris Rock and he have some sort of beef we don’t know about and that was the tipping point. I have a feeling there’s more to this story than we’ll probably never know.

Jada did a pretty public ‘interview’ with Will Smith where she talks how she cheated on him and while he tries to keep it together for the sake of the cameras, you can see him dying inside as she talks about it and calls it everything but cheating on him.

              Thank fuck I’m not famous.
