  • Damo's Lockdown Fling-down...

…a couple more short video mixes. Still trying to perfect picture/sound quality, better than yesterday’s attempt I think.

Intended to do one longer mix, but daughter rang mid-recording (remember airplane mode!). kinda lost the flow a bit after the interruption, but fuck it, in the spirit of ‘going live’, posting what I got…

Nice one. Shall give it a go in bit. And can we please crowd source something to get that mixing desk on stilts.

Damo surely you can find something to put all of that kit on to raise it up. A cd box or something to save your back.

It looks fucking ace all the same. Will give this a whirl for sure

I was just thinking - your back just be in bits mate !

…FFS, gotta love the middle-aged response, people more concerned about your back that what’s coming through the speakers! 🤣

Temporary fix… better?

So what’s the appeal with rotary mixers?? Never understood it myself. I’ve had the db4 on rotary and I just don’t get it…

      This is brilliant Damo.

      loving it!!

Thom_Fuckery …tbh there’s a lot of nonsense talked about them, its just a preference really. I first used a Rane 2016 in the mid-90’s and loved it so have owned a few…. moved to more modern-featured mixers for a while, then back to rotaries again.

The more recent ‘boutique’ mixers are all about sound quality really… less bells-and-whistles in the signal path = the best possible sound. This one is quite niche even by rotary standards, the bloke that makes them works to order by hand in his workshop, but are used by surprisingly diverse range of DJ’s… Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff, Theo Parrish, Dixon.

I always wondered what kept you in tip top nick, Damo. I had no idea it was floor-based decks.

If you and Damo went b2b Millsy, the dorises would be absolutely swooning.

Two middle aged men who know their tunes and when the tops come off can hold their own like you can’t believe.

…yesterday’s effort. A bit longer (80 mins-ish) of predominantly new stuff.

Realised afterwards I didn’t have the fader all the way down when I mixed-in the first track 😅

Damo, can you stop fucking about and post your next mix a-sap, please.

…haha, yeah, I’ll get on it this week. Consider that ^^^ my test-run for June
