If I could give zero, I would. We purchased 2 slices and 2 bottles of water for $16.63. I have never heard of such an absurd price for a regular slice, 2 bottles of water, and a large slice. And it was cold! Don’t come here.

35.72$ total, two beers 7$ each, cheesesteak hoagie 12.95$, fries $3, gratuity 4.49$ and fool of me I gave the cashier almost 5$, when he charged me the cheesesteak that I didn’t choose (he charged me 2 more dollars), I told him and he said: “hey my friend I’d never do that”, he tricked me…one good thing I asked him to charge my mobile, he did thank you for your help but you weren’t honest “my friend”, I will never come back, they know and they took advantage, probably he will be smiling now, enjoy your job waiting for another fool, have a nice day. If you go there good luck

Ed absolutely getting swindled on the mean streets of Illadelphia
Go down a storm when you are shitfaced.
Do they do pies / slices sans cheese?
Ed: Oi, I’ll ‘ave me a giant slice, sans cheese.
Ed 15 min later:
rhouses Hot take, but the philly cheese steak sandwich is overrated AF
Well then you’ve never had a good one. Took the bus through a quite rough area of Philly to try Dalessandro’s on a recommendation. Won’t win any beauty contests but a damn good sandwich.
Thinly sliced rib eye, grilled onions, and cheese on a roll? What’s not to love?
[Cue Ed saying, “the cheese” because everything is about Ed]
What are the cheese offerings in the US, can you get real cheese?
Still can’t get over being offered La Piat D’Or by the somellier while eating in a ‘top testaurant’ in the US. Neanderthals.
We have excellent cheese. Shame we can’t get imported raw milk cheeses like Mont D’or due to antiquated listeria concerns, but local offerings are solid. I would put the best Quebec cheddar and Northern California chevre against anything from around the globe.
Not that any of it goes on a Philly. Nor should it.
Was out on Chicago Deep Dish until I was brought to a spot in Berkeley. Absolutely tremendous. Cornmeal crust holds the thing together and gives a lovely texture. Different style, obviously, but I now have love for it. As with most foods, IMO, bad usually comes down to execution.
jonattonyeah I’ve eaten way too much legitimate bulgogi to know the onion/beef/wizz overload in a philly cheesesteak is disgusting.
Forget the 7-11 processed nacho cheese, my main issue is the amount the beef and the lack of seasoning.
jonattonyeah Where was it, Jonattan?
Zachary’s. Why are you going to go on Yelp and ruin their lives? Actually perfect for our man Ed. Fresh stewed California tomatoes and the cornmeal crust are the star. I’m sure you all will drop a mountain of hate with this picture. Don’t care. Come this way and we’ll go and a hundo says you’ll like it. And this is coming from a reformed deep dish hater. It’s the Yoshiesque of pizza.
jonattonyeah
That looks well good. How does hold together.
jonattonyeah I’m a big fan of saucy pizzas… this is winning for sure.
Everyone saying “oh you haven’t had a good philly cheesesteak”.
Visit your local korean supermarket, and pick this up, should be readily available:
And instead of drowning your sub with “wizz”, marinate the meat with this, add your onions and green peppers, and throw it in a roll. You’ll never even think about philly cheesesteak again.
jonattonyeah Why are you going to go on Yelp and ruin their lives?
I was giving you the opportunity for some MC bants.
“It’s in BERKeley.”
