Used to play out of a silly bus too.

Used to be one of the biggest ‘stages’, I always thought it was rubbish.

Norman Jay is literally the shittest ‘name’ DJ I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen Alex P vom down the side of the DJ booth, mid-set, in Bakers in Britain’s worst city.

Norman Jay was woeful the time I saw him play too. Horrendous

It’s Norman Jay MBE lads.

A little bit of respect please.

SIR Norman Jay. Knighted for services to DJing.

Yeah I agree, he’s dogshit

Chugmeister Bumbaclart, dropping Unfinished Sympathy in the middle of a peak time set.

Jay, not Millsy.

Actually, Millsy too.

Jay was awarded an MBE for services to music Millsy.

I’d much rather listen to Norman Jay MBE play than Millsy.

I’ve seen Norman Jay a few times at Carnival and Snowbombing. Have to say he’s not been too bad for me. Party DJ yes - lots of genres. Club DJ he is not. Some tracks he doesn’t mix because they shouldn’t. E.g. drops a dnb track after house or even some soul number.

Saw Norman Jay at The Cross loads of times.

    Always useless.

BlainSA I’m not an avid fan, but my mate stuck her her arm out for his autograph and he willingly signed it and got Colin Favour and Paul Trouble Anderson to oblige. He seems sound….for a Spurs fan.

He comes down to Worthing quite a lot. My friends love him but they do listen to Radio 1

Bumped into him in the urinals by the baggage carousels at Terminal 5 arrivals. Globe like afro, trandemark hat. Was about to shake his hand and then thought better of it.

      Is that Dave Benson Phillips?

Or that happy chef, Ainsley Harriot

      Lenny Henry and Dawn French

To be fair, it looks like a cracking punch - weight nicely on the front foot as he’s followed through - textbook.

        Goddamn that punch. lol.

Had no clue this existed, but sounds like an absolute nightmare. When people on here say, “too dangerous”, “the area is shady”, this is all just a euphemism for “stay away from the blacks”, I’m assuming.

BlainSA Some tracks he doesn’t mix because they shouldn’t. E.g. drops a dnb track after house or even some soul number.

Right. So I could basically do that. And, when I saw him, he didn’t exactly play stuff that was blindingly original, he just played tons of records I already have (for example, Unfinished Sympathy as mentioned).

So what’s the point of Norman Jay?

The records I didn’t have were absolute dogshit as well, for example ‘No, No, No’ by Dawn Penn.

At one of the carnivals I went to he played Dooms Night no less than 60 times in a one hour set. Arise Sir Jay of Ledgeland!

Don’t think I’ve ever even listened to Norman J let alone been to see him.

I have actually heard him play Dooms Night.

On the old Space Terrace too.

Same here. At the Cross. Obviously plays it in every set. His own remix

To be fair to him, Dooms Night is obviously bass heavy so works well off a carny float to 1,000 idiots off their beans on Red Stripe and goat curry. Not several times in one set mind you.

              Millsy
              Pffft. Amateur observation

Once the float is round the corner you can play what you like again.

With the right road configuration you could rinse embracing the sunshine on repeat for hours

                Mad_Cyril it’s a static float but here’s a safety lol to cover sarcasm/poor bantz

                «Lol»
