Anyone else into this? Have to say its been absolutely brilliant so far, especially after the latest episode. They have definitely nailed the feel of the series, very much like the Jackson films. I’ve read that some people can’t get past the odd tweaks to the written books but at face value its truly epic.

Compared to the the House of Dragon this has been pissing all over it, where nothing has actually happened yet apart from mincing around Kings Landing and some excruciating scenes of childbirth and losing virginity.

Its tripe. Christopher Tolken wouldn’t sell the rights to the Silmarilian and so Bezos found people who thought they could makeup their own version based on the epilogue to Return of The King. What an awful idea.

And the shows pacing is for babies. There is never a moments silence. Right from the jump its just talking fighting singing dancing. The Mandalorian had more elevated scripting ffs.

It’s not Tolkien that’s for sure, I like the idea though and it’s easy pickings for Amazon as Tolkien didn’t write a lot about the Second Age. Some things about it irritate me, like sloppy, cliched dialogue and a couple of properly hammed up performances,, but it’s not as bad as I feared, or the Tolkien dickheads would have you think

Thing is, even though it’s wide of the mark, it’s still and ‘in’ to Middle Earth, it will make more people interested in the source material, so it’s not all bad
