My point was England would be going - even if several high profile players / Southgate had pulled out - they’d have just been replaced with anyone else. The global corporate finance machine demands it.
FWIW, the ones who have went - why should they pull out - they are there to play footy in an opportunity they may never get again - TBF, I think it was pretty sound of them to want to sling an armband on and pay the fine in the first place. Still, they should have a bit more courage - Kane to take the yellow in the first game against a team we should be thrashing, make the whole thing look pantomime for a game and then drop it.
