alistair youth team is hardly the same though. Don’t think the Welsh or English would be too happy with him taking the full team; would be weird.

Theres been some shit games so far in this World Cup but fuck me this is taking the piss. If it keeps up like this in the 2nd half i’ll be Qata®-tonic! Lolz!

Are you watching the England game with Amps?

They keep hyping up Messi. It’s a reflection of how shit ligue 1 is that he’s got so many goal contributions this season. Shadow of his brilliant best. Will probably score a free kick or pen though

You were saying, Ed. I mean ali.

Great instinctive strike. Can seemingly walk through games and still change them

alistair I’ve never seen a player like him in terms of literally walking about for 90% of the game but then always either scoring, assisting or creating a chance. Greatest player I’ve ever seen

gcw I agree. He’s quite literally walked through the last two games though.

What a goal that second was, even better

Messi covered a lot of ground that game, no?

I don’t think the English would object, it would be less weird than a Swede or an Italian.

I remember when Fergie was (very hopefully) discussed as a possible England manager, I don’t recall anyone English objecting (although the Scots were obviously appalled by the idea and probably he was himself).

This Japan Costa Rica game is awful.

Thank god I’m off to Gerd Janson at Phonox later.

                The coalface beckons!

I think it would be more weird - it undermines the already questionable idea that Wales and others should have their own national teams if people aren’t that bothered by it.

While if you alternatively consider him “foreign” for the purposes of football, then you might as well appoint any other foreign manager with more pedigree who you can get.

hugopal I also think Rodgers has a body of work and a history of working with young players that merits consideration. His teams also play attacking football which we rarely got from the likes of Capello and Sven.
