The Actual World Cup 2022 Thread
Possibly France/Argentina (Winner of 1D/2C) I think, following Senegal.
I’m a fan but the fawning over Jude is a bit embarrassing. Lineker calls him breathtaking after a couple of good games against international minnows
So England are going out to France in the QFs then, a week on Saturday? Unlucky draw that.
England won the World Cup. No longer pre madonna’s more Celine Dion’s or Cheryl Cole’s.
Great result and happy to see a refreshed team out there, onward to Sunday!!
zackster the knockout round
Dan Don’t worry Jay, your lot won the Davis Cup yesterday.
Thanks for the consolation prize Dan. If this forum thinks I’m clueless when it comes to footy, they should see me when it comes to tennis.
Looking forward to Thursday to see if we can at least get our first ever World Cup win. Should be a good game because we’re motivated to make Canadian sport history and Morocco really want to win to ensure they get out of the group.
Funky calm down Funky, quite a few round here couldn’t give a fuck about England

I wouldn’t fancy England against France.
But stranger things have happened and France might not even get there (or be knackered from a gruelling extra time and penalties victory over someone, while we coast past Senegal).
Always good to see England drub another home nations team. Special mention for the “Are you Scotland in disguise” chants last night.
Foden making Sterling look like Theo Walcott in disguise. Should be starting every game.
The quicker Kalvin Phillips gets match fit the better, so Hendo has more time to talk his way into a Qatari clink.
It’s coming home lads!
ScottBailey Bellingham stated how having Hendo in midfield gave the team more intensity and allow him to be more attacking.
I know you will never agree, but he can add a lot of value in a midfield, but for England that would only be where Southgate sets up a more attacking style of play. Where he is more cautious then Hendo doesn’t have a beneficial role in the team.
He also acts like a captain in his role, unlike Kane. Which surely helps the youngsters in the team
RichM not sure Shitegate really needed to play 2 holding mids last night against a poor Wales team (Rice could’ve done it alone), but it’s the result that counts.
Onwards and upwards!!!!
Without Hendo……..
