LT42 I think you’re confusing how airline manufacturers operate with how big oil companies operate, they’re not the same thing.
You want to trust the lads who gave us the 737 Max?
Or Airbus who were found guilty of 15 years of bribery and corruption? Quantas who knowingly sold 8000 tickets for flights they had already cancelled? RyanAir who mislead customers with a greenwashing ad campaign, when they’re the biggest aviation emitter in Europe?
I can Google more examples if you like, but the individual cases don’t really matter, the point is that it’s naive to think corporations in a capitalist system will do anything to help you.
You can slurp down the aviation propaganda to feel good about taking flights, but I have more respect for those who say ‘fuck it, I want a holiday’. Even more for those who say the same but try their best to do some proper offsetting.
