Wasn’t on here at the time and was wondering what the general consensus was on the ending?
I thought it was a bit weak. Done 50 years ago in Butch and the Sundance kid. Was hoping for more especially with the quality of the storyline throughout. Thought it was cheesy, predictable and disappointing.

TBH I thought the whole show was great the first couple of seasons then got weaker and weaker throughout. I’d say the same (disappointedly) of Narcos.

Compared with other multi-season gangster epics of recent years, Peaky Blinders, which I actually thought was dogshit at first but I was persuaded to keep going back to it and it got better as it went along, and Boardwalk Empire, which was just excellent beginning to end.

Boardwalk was tops. Didn’t like Peaky Blinders and fucked it off. Narcos did also fall away yes.
Just thought with the amount of complex storylines throughout that I never guessed they could have at least used something never used before.

@Cankles-McJeggings

Really enjoyed it up until the last season. The major problem for me was that the main storyline in S5 made no sense at all. It was disappointing for sure but the quality of the seasons before that were amazing. Felt like the finale of GOT - great but a let down at the end.

Maybe I missed the point of S5 and someone can explain it but it felt like the writers backed themselves into a corner with the storyline and had to come up with an improbable way out of it.

If you haven’t seen it, I recommend L’Immortale which is a feature length link between S4 and S5.

I want to watch it but can’t find it anywhere. Illegal or not. Anyone?
Some of S5 was ok but then it just said ' shit we have to end this soon let’s get out of here sharpish’.

    Best crime TV this year?

    Absolutely this, a tour de force…

      bosstrabs It had probably the performance of the year too. Bernthal was mesmerising. Positively crawling into the skin of his character.
