Saw Lawler once in 2004 during the tribal dark drums era, in LA. Tore the place up. Might have been the red GU mixed comp release tour. Place was overflowing with raver girls, European and American. Even moreso than a Sasha night, which was usually dominated by fairly stuck-up Asians. First time I got lucky with a rando, you don’t forget those. Pete Tong opened.

    rhouses He was never good Rhouses. He had an iconic voice and was imperious on Radio 1 however In the dj booth he was lightyears behind sasha, digweed, lawler etc. ‘Played a bit of everything’ type of dj. Says it all.

                        Last time I saw him was at the Gallery in 99 warming up the room for Van Dyk before his EM. Was boring up until the point he played Stella.
