Shabu Shabu, Chinese Hot Pot, and Korean Army Style Hot Pot - all delicious and extremely wholesome culinary experiences, and you’re an idiot to deny yourself that.

JC Clubbers Colleagues and Friends, I’d like to apologise for Rhouses, the biggest shithead to have walked God’s green earth.
Also winter in England couldn’t be a better time or place to try it out, MC.
Along_the_Wire I had no idea you were mates with Ed, Vin
Lol!
Yeah Rhouses, the language stopped you suaving them, nothing to do with the fact they think your whole country is filth-encrusted peasants and rapists.

rhouses The language sounds like pigs getting slaughtered, Dave. Does nothing for me.
Come on now lads - this constant squabbling between you on such topics is getting a bit out of hand.
Let’s just make peace and agree that both your countries are shit-holes, okay?!

That’s still incredibly funny/accurate though all the same.
Yeah dermo, it’s incredibly funny. Lol.

Be interested to know exact deets on the shit hole scale. China masquerades as first world but has literally billions on and under the poverty line. India is just one giant shithole with a few privileged fucks living the life as people die in the gutter outside their condo whilst they sit sipping cocktails. Ignoring it and hoping it just goes away with all the flies their rotting corpses attract.
Cankles-McJeggings Only the CBDs of the major cities could be described as first world. Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou have comparable median incomes to rich countries. The rest of the country is indeed very poor. The Chinese aren’t really under any illusions about this.
However, in some ways, the CBDs of places like Beijing seem more advanced in some ways than Western cities - they don’t have the stench of urban decay, failing infrastructure (because it’s all new, rather than it being well-maintained) and rising crime. Electronic payment systems and QR codes for everything. Convenient delivery networks and so on. In some regards, these cities function better than London (although I wouldn’t suggest they are ‘better’ - they don’t have things like such organic, interesting culture, music and artistic scenes and so on).
bosstrabs Cheers, got it.
The divorcee market is probably a better match for me (I’m 37) but most are significantly younger than that here - the majority are students in their early/mid 20s, although as I understand it there’s been a fair amount of older immigrants (predominantly from Hong Kong) too.
That said, my last English bird was 23 and I only got her because I like to think I’m in decent nick for my age with a few quid in my pocket. Would the 9s/10s be put off by an age gap like that?
Dining wise, I’m struggling to find an online presence for a lot of the places that have popped up - quite a lot seem to be on this site though, ever heard of it? The below is the best place I’ve tried to date:

I love how secure Dave is in his total and utter unassailability as board SME on anything remotely pertaining to Asia or the Orient.
You could literally ask him anything about it and he’d provide some extensive lived experience example like some sort of omniscient AI chatbot. And no matter what he said it would be taken as empirical truth.
Yep I’m sold. If he starts bigging them up though I’m out.
bosstrabs Infrastructure aside, which is without a doubt a shit show here, there are quite a few similarities with China and India.
Unified Payments Interface (UPI)/QR codes have taken over payments. And the enormous population allows for cheap labor, leading to a ton of start-ups centered around convenient and easy logistics across all industries. Friend sending me pics of the Trader Joes close to his home if SF, as if that’s the future. Had to tell him I haven’t set foot in a supermarket in three years because there are multiple apps which will deliver my groceries within 15 mins of placing the order.
Always thought I’d move to Canada/Dubai/Singapore eventually, but with a child, I have absolutely no desire to leave India (at least until she’s in middle school).
China doesn’t shit in a hole in the floor then fight it down with a pair of tongues. = Win
Uughh ..fuck China too.
