seanc80 I have to say you are spoiled for choice for decent dj’s in London. Dublin is a fucking shitshow. Regressed completely. The yoof have zero interest in anything credible so the the bookers play safe with Sasha etc or book bilge at smaller nights angled at the clueless young’ns. Sad times.
Looking through the listings it’s a bit worse than I’d have expected considering how many Dubliners also seem drawn to the proper clubs here in Berlin, but it doesn’t seem an entirely lost cause - e.g. the same place which has Sasha this weekend has got VTSS and Kerri Chandler on separate nights the following weekend, who are both a bit more adventurous/underground bookings (albeit the venue then undo themselves again with a horrific run of Jackmaster, Anfisa Letyago and SNTS).
There’s also Scalameriya and Thomas P Heckmann playing at other venues in a few weeks.
But, importantly, isn’t there a new law being brought in this year which will allow clubs in Ireland to finally stay open to 6am? That will boost the scene massively. Most places seem to currently shut at 3am latest.
