Soho House (it’s a fuck lot cheaper than anywhere else) - about 15 min walk to central stuff.
Rome
Everywhere is ‘15 minutes’ from a tourist attraction.
Recommendation 1: Uber is your friend. Rome = a fuck tonne of walking otherwise.
Recommendation 2: There’s one of those food halls on the side of Termini that’s a decent option for a quick bite and you can’t be arsed trekking round.
Recommendation 3: Have a look at specific districts and have a rummage around for somewhere to eat within. We stayed in Monti, plenty of narrow streets, sharps to keep the mrs occupied etc…
Other than that the best times I’ve had in Rome are just wandering round and just finding random places, balances the mission of hunting down the big game attractions.
Have a good one
Trip Advisor is shite nowadays.
Pat & John from Leigh: “My kids are fussy eaters and we had been walking all day and all we wanted was BURGOH so we ask for four BURGOH AND CHIPS and they said we dont do that here and they woudt even make us BURGOH AND CHIPS even tho it wert on menu so we went MCDONALDS up the road much freindlier service recommend every time instead of these stick-up eyeties. 1 star”
Love Rome as well
At the risk of sounding like oxygen stealer Edward Smallman, I stayed in the Waldorf Astoria when i was there.
Lol!
Just checked the menu at the Waldorf Astoria and can confirm spring onion is on there ️

When in Rome etc
Just make sure you walk around the place nodding and saying “commendetore” to everyone you see, Grant.

Why bother with Rome when you can get a delicious Loyd Grossman sauce from pretty much all major supermarkets these days? Much better then the shite you’ll end up with out there.
Anyone rewatched the HBO/ BBC-show Rome? Does it hold up?
Big plate of spag bol and chips, pint of lambrini and that fat bloke off the bbc 1 italia ’90 theme song singing in the backround, sure you wouldn’t know the difference!
Spent a week there in 2019 to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Pierluigi for a special meal . The seafood is to die for and I’d also suggest Ristorante le Tamerici for some perfectly executed classics (Tuna puttanesca was delicious)
I’ve heard it’s full of stray cats? Can your please confirm this, Grant.
Saluti in advance.
Home to the legendary Totti
Along_the_Wire watch the Stanley Tucci visit to Rome on iplayer - he goes to a couple of nice looking places.
