Why bother with Rome when you can get a delicious Loyd Grossman sauce from pretty much all major supermarkets these days? Much better then the shite you’ll end up with out there.
Anyone rewatched the HBO/ BBC-show Rome? Does it hold up?
Big plate of spag bol and chips, pint of lambrini and that fat bloke off the bbc 1 italia ’90 theme song singing in the backround, sure you wouldn’t know the difference!
Spent a week there in 2019 to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Pierluigi for a special meal . The seafood is to die for and I’d also suggest Ristorante le Tamerici for some perfectly executed classics (Tuna puttanesca was delicious)

Along_the_Wire watch the Stanley Tucci visit to Rome on iplayer - he goes to a couple of nice looking places.
Given the colouring on those chips, they are the oven variety which elevates that plate to elite level. It was already heading there with the huge splodge of ketchup but the complete disregard for proper homemade chips, in favour of some oven ready ones makes it a classic.
