All I have to add on this subject (and I say this with all due grace and reverence to the Lord and each and every one of his blessed children) I sat through several hours of Saint George’s funeral proceedings broadcast live on BBC News and what a beautiful and mighty sad thing it was, seeing all those face-masked, smartly dressed family members talking about having to watch their own flesh and blood begging for mercy and calling the police officer that choked him to death “Sir” …… you can’t help but be moved by that, it was awful and I feel truly ashamed to be a white person in this day and age and I think we all need to stop saying we don’t see colour because that brings nothing to the conversation and we all need to go much much further to redress the balance and stop thinking about ourselves all the time.

its obviously a really complex and nuanced topic though. You can’t lay all the blame at the feet of colonial attitudes and there has to be a degree of responsibility taken by the minority communities too of course.
Im not sure how well Obama ultimately served the needs of those communities and I am aware of a viewpoint which argues that BAME households have benefited from Trump’s administration but its hard to sort the fact from fiction isn’t it.

I think that’s another completely fabricated bullet point on the MAGA soundbite challenge. At Trump’s absolute peak of economic heroism the economy only arrived back at where it was under Bush before Obama came in. Plus the jobs numbers use a statistic to inflate the real numbers such as; anyone dropping off the welfare register is added to the jobs list but there are countless reasons for that happening. Becoming a drug dealer (non racist assumption attempt) is one of them or simply dying. They don’t specifically use the numbers from the standpoint of people actually starting new employment. I saw an article by Robert Reich on the subject, I’ll try and find the link, but it’s all very simple manipulation of data.
